‘Edgar goal canceled’ Daegu, ‘Lee Kwang-yeon save’ draw 0-0 with Gangwon

Daegu FC and Gangwon FC shared a point in a rain-affected encounter.

Daegu and Gangwon played to a goalless 0-0 draw in the 22nd round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at DGB Daegu Bank Park in Daegu at 7 p.m. on Nov. 11.

Daegu, which was looking for a second consecutive win, settled for a third consecutive match without a loss (one win, two draws) and remained in fifth place with 32 points (eight wins, eight draws, six losses).

Gangwon remained in 11th place with 15 points (2W, 9D, 11L) after going winless in 12 games (5D, 7L). Gangwon hasn’t won in the league in nearly three months since a 1-0 away win over Jeonbuk Hyundai on April 29.

Gangwon has also not won away from home in Daegu since winning in the 18th round in July 2017. Prior to today’s match, they had drawn two and lost six of their previous eight matches in Daegu.

Daegu, coached by Choi Won-kwon, lined up with Brazilian attacking trio Vaselus, Sejingya and Edgar in the front line. Lee Jin-yong and Ko Jae-hyun were deployed in the midfield, with Hong Chul and Hwang Jae-won on the flanks. The defense was centered around Kim Kang-san, Cho Jin-woo, and Kim Jin-hyuk, while Oh Seung-hoon wore the goalkeeping gloves.

Coach Yoon Jeong-hwan’s Gangwon went with Gallego, Park Sang-hyuk, and Yang Hyun-joon up front, with Hankyoung and Alibayev in the midfield. On the flanks were Yoon Seok-young and Lim Chang-woo, while Kim Woo-seok, Tuchi, and Kim Young-bin formed the back three, with Lee Kwang-yeon in goal.

The first half was fiercely contested, but no goals were scored. Kangwon had a chance in the 15th minute when Alibayev’s shot was sharply deflected and headed toward the goal, but it was saved by the goalkeeper. Lim Chang-woo’s ground ball cross confused the Daegu defense in front of the goal.

Daegu pushed forward in the second half. In the 10th minute of the second half, Vasellus fired a sharp shot that was caught by Lee Kwang-yeon, and in the 18th minute, Edgar’s shot also flew in front of Lee Kwang-yeon. Sejingya’s shot deflected off a defender and hit the side netting. Ko Jae-hyun’s header and Hwang Jae-won’s shot from a corner kick were also disappointing. 토토사이트

Kangwon, who threatened Daegu with passing plays from Lee Jung-yup and Yang Hyun-joon, was able to settle down in defense as Lee Kwang-yeon continued to make saves. In the 41st minute of the second half, Edgar scored a header, but the goal was disallowed after the video assistant referee (VAR) ruled that Edgar had been fouled earlier.

Daegu made a last-ditch effort, but couldn’t find a goal. Gangwon even brought on Yago, who joined the team this summer, but was unable to score. In the final minute, Gangwon avoided a goal as Lee Kwang-yeon saved Sejingya’s shot.
