Greinke officially signed with Kansas City.
On February 4, the Kansas City Royals officially announced that they had signed a one-year contract with Jack Greinke. Greinke will spend another year in Kansas City, his ‘parent’.
Greinke, who agreed to a contract with Kansas City on January 31st, officially signed the contract on the same day. According to New York Post John Heyman, Greinke will earn an annual salary of $8.5 million and can receive up to $7.5 million in incentives.
Greinke pitched 137 innings in 26 starts for Kansas City last year, going 4-9 with a 3.68 ERA. Excluding the shortened season in 2020, Greinke consistently recorded more than 10 wins from the 2008 season to the 2021 season, but only 4 wins last year.
Greinke, who was born in 1983 and had a 38-year-old season last year, showed a marked decline in his speed and strikeout ability last year. However, his ability to contain runs was still intact and his control was still stable. Kansas City, which is not in a situation where it can challenge the postseason right away, decided to stay with Team Legend for another year. 메이저놀이터
