Giovani Lo Celso is likely to be retained under manager Enze Postecoglou.
Tottenham Hotspur cruised to a 5-1 victory over Leicester City in a pre-season friendly at the Singapore National Stadium in Singapore on Sept. 26 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Spurs made several changes to their starting eleven in the first and second halves of the game. Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, James Maddison, Dejan Kuluczewski, Yves Bissouma, Pape Sarr, Destiny Udoji, Ben Davies, Christian Romero, Pedro Foro, and Guglielmo Vicario started the first half.
For the second half, Hicharisson, Ivan Perisic, Lo Celso, Manor Solomon, Oliver Skip, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Sergio Reguillon, Japhet Tanganga, Eric Dier, Emerson Royal, and Brandon Austin came on as substitutes.
Lo Celso came on at the start of the second half. His role was to support the attack from the center of the second line, much like Madison did in the first half. Lo Celso looked good in this position throughout the second half. The first shot on goal came three minutes into the second half, when Lo Celso’s shot was deflected off a defender and into the path of Hischalisson. He slotted it home to put the visitors back in front. Tottenham’s comeback had begun at the feet of Lo Celso. 스포츠토토
With the momentum in their favor, Tottenham continued to push forward. Lo Celso joined them. In addition to energizing the attack, Lo Celso also looked to score himself at times. Lo Celso’s efforts paid off in the 28th minute. In the 28th minute, Solomon’s cross was deflected by the defense, and Lo Celso was able to get a touch on the ball before firing a left-footed shot into the back of the net.
After the game, Postecoglou had good things to say about Lo Celso. In his post-match press conference, Postecoglou said of Lo Celso’s performance, “Lo Celso has been working hard in training. I know he’s a great player and I think the way we play suits him. I enjoyed working with him. I think he’s enjoying the soccer we’re trying to play. It’s going really well.”
With the change of manager, it is likely that Tottenham’s game plan and tactics for next season will also change. While Lo Celso was marginalized under Antonio Conte last season, there is hope for him under Postecoglou.
